Fashion Targets Breast Cancer

FTBC launches on today and has become the UK’s biggest charity fashion campaign, helping to raise money for pioneering charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

The collection has become so much more than just a charity collection, there are some really key pieces that are trend led and I would wear.

Each item carries a minimum 30% donation to Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s life-saving work.

British brands on board include M&S, Debenhams, Topshop, River Island and Laura Ashley.

One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime so Breakthrough's mission is to stand together and fight it! - “Buy It, Fight It, Wear your Support”

Here are my faves (ALL available at Topshop for £2 each)

Or check out their website to put money towards a good cause.

Simple Kind To Skin Sun-Kissed Moisture Cream

Simple Kind To Skin Sun-Kissed Moisture Cream is my saviour right now!

Post holiday tan has faded rapidly due to the lack of sun in the UK and the permanent rainfall we are being subjected to!

So I need something which both moisturises, but also fake tans.

Only £4.99, available nationwide, this daily moisturiser builds a light, gradual tan without the biscuity smell. FAB!

The Sun-Kissed Moisture Cream contains Pro-Vitamin B5 to actively soften and restore; Vitamin E to moisturise; Glycerin to hydrate; Bisabolol to soothe and calm; and UVA and UVB protection. It contains no perfume, no unnecessary ingredients or harsh chemicals.

Basically its spot on! Thank the lord - I'll be back to tanned in no time :-D

Wondaland

So I know I usually stick to the usual high street suspects on here but there is one brand that I am absolutely in love with.
I most recently saw it at MLPR's press day - WONDALAND is a vintage-inspired label that reworks classic and beautifully tailored vintage garments and brings them up to date with a twist, focusing on high quality and innovative fabrics with bespoke prints that are exclusive to the brand.

This stunning blouse is a prime example of their pieces - £215.97 from http://www.wondaland.co.uk/

Diagonal Nails

Today I had another play around with selotape and created these.

Simply done by painting my nails in base pink. WAIT TO DRY!!

Then place small sections across the nail in a diagonal fashion. Paint the area in a contrasting tone. I chose blue from OPI. Then remove the selotape before its dried, otherwise you might risk taking the nail varnish off.

Voila!

New shoes New shoes

So I have new shoes.

My last pair of Keds had to be binned after a long trip to India in which they were sodden in all sorts of dirt. No matter how many times they were popped through the wash they were never restored to there former glory!

So I'm extremely overjoyed to have myself a new pair- now they need to be worn in a little. The brightness is hurting my eyes!!

Cheryl Cole in PPQ

So Cheryl Cole has returned to the music world with a bang - in this stunning shot she is seen clasping a PPQ SS12 heart shaped necklace made out of keys!

I LOVE

Kitch and Honey Press Day

Held at Vanilla on Great Titchfield St Kitch & Honey showed a great selection of brands.

My personal fav is Pret a Portabello  which displayed its usual array of cute tea dresses and vintage inspired numbers. I loved the tees too and appliqué pieces - beautiful as ever.

One stand out brands though is Chlobo a fabulous range of silver jewellery. Perfect for all people's styles. With peace signs and cute trinkets, but new for summer is the Dreamlands collection with a positively aquatic/spiritual feel. A range of blue, white and amber stones set off with evil eye charms and buddhas. I love - buy it here http://www.chlobo.co.uk/

Finally the amazing Charlotte Taylor. Beautiful printed dresses, trouser suits (in adorable parrot prints). So tribal, I adore! www.charlottetaylorltd.com

Blackberry Party

So apart from the stabbing events, an unfortunate end to a great evening, the BBM party was a star studded and fun filled night!

Wretch 32 kicked off the proceedings with an amazing show. Highlight was his cover of Nero!

Jessie J rocked up in a polka dot cycling short combo and put on a great show.

Throughout the night twitter feeds were displayed around the room. A great way of getting exposure for the party.

New Nails New Nails...

So these beauts were created by the wonderful Katie, head make up artist at FashionistA.

Using contrasting tones to suit my indecisive mood. She finished off with  a black heart tip ala PPQ from their AW12 show.

How? A sharpie pen and a steady hand. Genius.

I of course got bored and so got Katie to put more hearts on each nail in contrasting colours. I love the subtlety!! ;-)

Future Fashion at Westfield

I popped down to Westfield recently and came across Future Fashion - a great celebration of fashion in the hub of the shopping centre. Usually I can't bear all these events mainly as I see them a lot in my job, but it was a great example of interacting with the consumer.

Everything from a 3D catwalk, mood board creators, a mocktail lounge, beauty masterclasses and more! And all for free.

I snapped a few pics - a really great idea.

Apricot Scrub - good enough to eat

An old faithful in any girls toiletry cabinet. The facial scrub and all facial scrubs.

I have used this on and off for years and seem to forget how great it is - luckily I got sent a lovely sample to try out again.

Re-designed with more modern packaging the basic ingredients are still the same -

APRICOTS are known to contain one of the highest levels of carotenoids (think vitamin A) and super-effective antioxidants. All of this natural power might seem, well, too powerful, but they are actually quite gentle and nourishing and they help make fresher, more nourished skin beautifully possible.

CORN KERNEL MEAL is actually flour ground from dried corn. It’s a soft, but gently powerful all-natural exfoliant that promotes skin cell turnover and regeneration. Cornmeal makes softer-feeling, fresher skin possible.

WALNUT is known for its hard shell, but when it’s ground, it becomes an amazingly effective, all-natural exfoliant ingredient in our scrubs. Not only are walnuts plentiful on the planet, they also help newer, healthier skin come to the surface.

My skin feels tight, firm and refreshed. The old faithful has returned - and this time for good!

Macadamia Oil

So everyone is banging on about Moroccan Oil - but I think this is better.

They say -
'With the oil from the Macadamia nut found throughout the South Pacific and the uniquely rare Argan seeds of Morocco, nature has provided us with some of the most beneficial elements for healthful skin and hair. Macadamia Natural Oil™ products combine the oils of these highly nutritional nuts with special blends of nature’s most nourishing botanicals to formulate the ultimate in hair rejuvenation and maintenance. This is the essence of nature.'

I only believe in this normal splurge once I try products - I'm dreadfully cynical you see - but actually this stuff is incredible. I've been using it for less than a week and my dried out hair (and badly home dyed) has become silky again. It reminds me of when I was 11 and hated my bob but had the silkiest mop around. This is a key staple for sure!!

Hols

So I'm off on my hols tommorrow - great times in terms of mid spring trip - bad times in terms of body not REMOTELY ready to be revealed to the world.

So what the hells does one do when faced with this? A swimsuit becomes a godsend. Now we may all think that swimsuitsr turns you into a massive granny or remind you of that dreadful swimathon you had to take part in at school but ACTUALLY its kind of gone all cool.

Take 'We Are Handsome' as an example - The Romantic 2012 range is to die for.

Stocked on Net-a-Porter it is a little luxe for my budget constraints with prices starting from the £200 mark... So I've trawled the high street and found a few bits much more in my price range!

£35 from Asos.com

£55.20 from Ted Baker

Left to Right: £32 and £34 both Topshop

With any of the above you can defo rock a one piece on the beach this summer without channeling O.A.P

Tatty Devine

I got the chance to preview the Tatty Devine AW12 collection at MLPR'S press day - the usual perspex delights - mainly cat themed - a massive plus.

Below are some of my favourites - as you can see I haven't really edited it down very well!

Check out the full collection here.
